A desire for craft beer and wine 7 days a week led to the creation of Community Tap, a local neighborhood beer and wine store. Local being the key word, “We have people who walk in and there is always somebody they know. You can come by yourself and your pretty much gonna see somebody you know," says owner Anna Okupinski. Her husband Mike Okupinski and friend Ed Buffington, opened Community Tap six years ago. Anna and Mike also live 4 blocks away.
Community Tap started as a carry-out-only craft beer shop. It now seats 120 and offers over 600 craft beers, 80 boutique wines. Plus offers growler refills.
Location was key. Located off Main St, they saw the growth potential of the area. “I think Greenville is so different. When I was in high school, you didn’t go down Main Street. Something really special is happening and I think its growing outward," said Anna. Mike adds, “Even though it’s a strip mall, it was from the 70’s and it had a little class and a little funky feel to it.” We agree.
Don't miss stopping by this neighborhood gem. With a regular food truck schedule and plenty of fun folks, there's something for everyone. Let's face it, you're going to have a good time.
