From the bottom of our brunch-loving hearts…
After far too long, we were finally able to party with some of Greenville’s best with an actual in-person celebration!
With the help of our incredible sponsors and volunteers, the Off The Grid Greenville team hosted Brunch for a Cause on Saturday, August 21st.
Sure, we had our 5th birthday to celebrate, but this brunch was really about the extraordinary humans, helpers, small businesses, and creative souls we rally for every day.
YOU are the reason we do what we do! 🥰
Every brunch bite, clinking cocktail, henna-d hand, swag bag, and auctioned item was provided by our friends who epitomize Off The Grid values. This was our chance to shine a bright light on them while also giving a big ol’ brunchy hug to the locals in our favorite city.

P A R T Y P L A N T I N G
Our work would be impossible without our community. From the food to the decor to the music, we are constantly impressed by our local Greenvillians who stepped up and made this day possible. While this Brunch for a Cause was certainly the event of the year, it was a heavy lift for our volunteers, and we’re so very grateful for their efforts.

Give it away (Quietly)
We’re so grateful to all of our donors who helped us auction off some killer goods from around town during our silent auction!
And for those who wanted to practice more than 6ft of distance, the auction was available for online participation
A lil’ sweet, a lil’ spicy
The sweet and spicy candied bacon was a knockout. Our guests didn’t have to decide between a sweet or savory bite – they got both! The sweet and spicy candied bacon, graciously donated by The Farehouse, was a major hit. Let’s just say everyone went back for seconds.

Get your buns to Bake Room
Bake Room’s Mini AM Buns are something carb-loving GVL residents look forward to snacking on every chance they get. It’s a go-to spot for discerning palates and lovers of French-style pastries.
The delightfully fluffy mini-morning buns were a huge hit!
Chilaquiles (chee-luh-kee-layz) are a traditional Mexican breakfast food made with lightly fried tortillas and topped with all the breakfast yummies!
Papi’s Tacos topped them with fried corn chips, salsa roja, sour cream, pico de gallo, red onions, and lettuce. If you wanted a non-vegetarian option like the one pictured here, you can add flank steak.
We love Papi’s Tacos!
Lasagna for brunch? Trust us on this.
That’s the thing about this brunch: we brought together Greenville’s OGs and emerging creatives to give you an unparalleled sampling of Greenville’s culinary scene.
Meet Alex, the co-owner of Cucina del Borgo, a newer concept in Greenville. Cucina del Borgo started out as a fan-favorite at the Farmer’s Market with the occasional pop-up. They’re known for their artfully hand-crafted pasta and amazing sauce selection. Their breakfast lasagna stood out from the crowd and was loved by all!
One of the most unique bites offered were the crazy delicious brunch corndogs from Resident Dogs. The brat was dipped and fried in pancake batter and then topped with whipped goat cheese and blueberry compote. The inventive minds behind this little concoction completely wowed everyone!
Fashionable Hyeji KIM matched her outfit to her table
Hyeji Kim is pictured here eating one of Resident Dog’s brunch corndogs and enjoying tea from Snackworks. Unbeknownst to Hyeji, her stylish outfit was a perfect match for our table decor!
and the fun keeps going
In true OTG fashion, we wanted to teach our guests something new in a fun interactive way! Henna is the ancient art of decorating skin with ink made from plant extracts. Maria Emmi, a local henna artist, adorned our guests with these beautiful handprinted designs.

The mini committee
The Sound Committee holds a special place in the hearts of the OTGG team. Aside from pumping their fantastic tunes through the space at Fisheye Studios, this group was also the band at Jackie and John’s wedding.
The Mini Committee, a pared-down version of The Sound Committee, brought the party and had guests toe-tapping all afternoon!
Local writer and cocktail expert, Sam Slaughter, treated guests to a lesson on cocktail making. After greeting guests with a thoughtfully-prepared welcome drink, Sam walked guests through how to craft the perfect Gin & Tonic using Old Dominick gin.
Up for taking a cocktail class with us?
Email hello@offthegridgreenville.com to reserve a spot in the next class at Exile GVL on October 5, 2021.
Chewin’ with our crew
Greenville’s Chew Crew showed up in full force, ready to volunteer and munch their way through all the brunchy bites, of course! We were excited to have the discriminating palates of this happy lil’ crew at our Brunch for a Cause and are thrilled to have their support.
Keeping it in the family
The OTGG community is a family affair. We support each other through good times and bad. (This brunch happened to be one of the good times!)
After a crazy year lifting one another up through Covid, we can’t get over how amazing it was to finally get together under joyous circumstances.

We couldn’t do it without you…
Thank you so much to our incredible sponsors, volunteers, makers, movers, and shakers who helped make this event a reality.
We love you all!
This event was a celebration of our community’s efforts in addition to supporting the work we do at Off The Grid Greenville. It goes around! Your support allows us to funnel more time and resources into championing our local small business owners.
For that, we are forever grateful!
If you couldn’t make it but support the work we’re doing, please consider making a donation: Donate Here
