Feeding Five
You want to take the family out to dinner, but you don’t want to break the bank.
You want the kids to enjoy themselves, but you need to be able to relax, too.
There are tons of restaurants in Greenville. How will you choose?
The good news is – you don’t have to.
We’ve picked five local places using five specific criteria with you and your family
(and your wallet) in mind:
For the kids – kids menus, a staff that’s cool with your little ones, and environments where noise isn’t an issue. And for you – easy access to parking, available adult beverages and the reality that your family of five can eat for under $100, including a couple drinks.
So, what are you waiting for? Your table is ready….

Chinese food is always a great choice for a large group and can easily cost under $100.
At Oriental House, a kids menu is available, or consider ordering a bunch of dishes for the table, so everyone can share. Crunchy noodles keep hungry mouths satisfied before the food arrives. They also have sushi options on the menu, along with beer and wine.
Don't want to eat in? Take-out is always ready in 15-20 minutes.
There are parking lots at both Augusta Street and Woodruff Road locations.
No problem accommodating a large group here. PIZZA for all! Pasta on the side for pickier kids... (no kids menu, but who needs it with pizza and pasta!) And there's an unbelievable selection of beers available on tap and by the pitcher.
High ceilings help keep the noise levels down, and the whole family can eat and drink for under $100.
There's parking across the street, and the first hour is free.
Kid-friendly menu options and a huge selection of tequila, along with a full bar, for the adults.
For the longer summer nights, an outdoor seating area opens onto The ONE Place courtyard, so the kids can get up and stretch their legs. Eating inside? There's no problem with laughing out loud -- this place can handle some noise.
Two parking garages are located off the square -- the first hour is free.
Now, here's a kids menu that will knock your socks off! A filet with two sides for $9 (seriously the best one in Greenville) - pictured are two choices from the kids menu.
It's underground (under Barleys,) and the cave-like atmosphere is fun for kids (and adults.) They have an excellent beer selection, to boot.
Parking is across the street -- the first hour is free.
The Pita House / Grateful Brew "Pleasantburg Double Back"
While the Pita House is already well known for its delicious family-friendly meals, including grilled cheese pita for beginners (and a grocery store with tables, so you can dine in) - it's never been known as a place where parents can grab an adult beverage.
Introducing the "Pleasantburg Double Back" --a term coined by George, who's two doors down at the Grateful Brew.
You can park at either location, order from the Pita House, and then, take your meal to the picnic tables (or indoor seating) at the Grateful Brew.
Even with a couple of beers at Grateful Brew, you can still feed a family of 5 for under $100. Just remember that Pita House is CASH only.
