SUSHI GO
There’s so much more to SUSHI GO than the freshest sushi in the Upstate. Owner Max Godo takes pride in his restaurant’s dedication to crafting beautiful, authentic Japanese dishes. Think Flower Harumaki, Dynamite Yaki, Baked Spicy Tuna… Head downtown to try it for yourself! And don’t worry, you can still order the classics like teriyaki chicken and shrimp tempura if that’s more your thing. We aren’t judging.

Welcome to SUSHI GO, a traditional Japanese restaurant located downtown across the street from NOMA Square. Originally known as Sushi Koji, Max Godo took over ownership in 2015 and changed the name to SUSHI GO. Ever since, his restaurant has become known for serving the best Japanese food in the Greenville area.
Meet SUSHI GO’s owner Max Godo, you’ll see his smiling face when you walk into the restaurant. He spends much of his time making sure SUSHI GO customers are welcome and indulged with superior food and service. Max and his wife Miho have been married for four years. After having their son, Alex, Max recognized a need to hire help at the restaurant so he could come out from behind the sushi counter.
Flower Harumaki - a beautifully bright dish made of fresh wrapped spring rolls with avocado, snow crab, cucumber, and yes, edible orchids.
From left to right:
Baked Spicy Tuna - spicy tuna in an avocado bowl topped with special sauce and baked to perfection.
Chirashi Don - assorted sashimi on top of sushi rice in a box.
Dynamite Yaki - shrimp, scallops, crab, asparagus, and onion stuffed in a giant scallop shell and broiled with a special spicy sauce.
Kinoko Foil Yaki - four kinds of Asian mushrooms grilled to perfection and smothered in a delicious Ponzu sauce (a citrus-based sauce made with yuzu, a Japanese citrus fruit).
SUSHI GO’s full bar has drink options for everyone. If you’re into sake, you can choose from over 15 bottles on the menu, ranging from sweet to dry to flavored options. Not your thing? The bar is stocked with an assortment of beer and wine, as well as a collection of unique specialty cocktails.
Nabeyaki Udon - a traditional Japanese noodle soup made with chicken, shrimp tempura, scallops, eggs, and vegetables, all topped with shichimii spices. The perfect comfort food on a cold day.
Meet Koyama, SUSHI GO’s extremely talented sushi chef. We urge you to find him behind the sushi bar whipping up some fresh rolls you MUST try.
Looking for a place to gather? SUSHI GO even has a private party room for large events. It’s the perfect location for holiday parties, birthday celebrations, and more.
We asked Max Godo what he wants you to know about SUSHI GO. It’s about bringing people together over a shared experience: food. He has created a Japanese experience that highlights culture and diversity, with an adventurous menu. It’s time to expand your horizons and try that dish you’ve never heard of before!
