Let’s cut to the chase and talk about the fried chicken. It’s crispy, tender, and makes our mouths water just thinking about it. The secret? It’s all about the seasoning in the flour, which Uncle Terry keeps under lock and key.
Before its birth in 2005, the luncheonette was Ms. McBee’s Diner. When the Johnson family acquired the diner, through hard work and dedication, they transformed it into the OJ's we cherish today.
Want to know what makes OJ’s truly unique? Jordan shares, “We cook from scratch and we use quality products. We have a diverse customer base. We have everyone from judges to the people working at the car wash across the street. They all come and they all sit down together.”
The proof is in the banana pudding.
Expect different specials on Monday thru Friday. Think Thanksgiving Tuesdays if you will. Menu items will be the same depending on the season.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, let's give a little thanks to this mac n cheese, shall we?
Soul food is known for its intense flavors and arguably even more intense history. Don’t be fooled though, it is a shared cuisine that should be celebrated.
Let love, kindness, and humility drive you to support your community through continuous dialogue with others. Feed your soul. Come to OJ’s hungry and ready to spend time with your new brothers and sisters.
